Why it's important

Inclusive design is not a compliance checkbox. It’s the difference between technically accessible and actually usable.

Inclusion shouldn't depend on how confidently someone can read a policy document or type a long response. Often the people most affected by decisions are often the ones least able to take part. 

Better inclusion means better data. And better data means better decisions.

What's included and how it works

Participation Plus + includes two features

Easy Read

Co-designed with specialists.

  • Users select Easy Read as a native activity type in Citizen Space
  • Content is structured in dedicated image and text columns
  • Large, clear typography guides respondents through each question
  • Simple, supportive language appears at key moments like submission screens
  • Respondents complete and submit just like any other activity

 

Speech to text

  • Respondents tap the microphone button to record a response
  • Speech is automatically converted to text in the input field
  • They can review and edit the transcribed text to ensure accuracy
  • They have the option to listen back to an AI voice reading their answer
  • They submit when they’re happy with the response

Speech to text | Arlen Hill Wind farm proposal - Call for views

We are seeking public feedback on the recently announced Wind Farm proposal in Arlen Hill. The Wind Farm is currently proposed to be located approximately 5 to 10 nautical miles off the coast of Arlen and would see the installation of 85 wind turbines, which would produce enough energy to power hundreds of thousands of homes annually. The feedback of residents is important to us and will be considered as part of the examination and planning process.
